Equity, Not Equality: A New Vision for Diversity

The author discusses the difference between equality and equity and the impact of misinterpretation in the US workplace. The article also explores the social forces that call for a new vision regarding workplace diversity. Observing key trends in employment, independent of the law, demands a better understanding of the barriers and personally held myths and organizational values create. Companies can then begin to craft a new, more functional and productive definition of diversity.
