What happens to an article
once it is submitted?

At IMQ, we receive many unsolicited articles from students, professors, and professionals interested in the field of intercultural management, often in response to our periodically publicized calls for articles. Sometimes these articles appear in our inbox in draft form without prior warning, but many times authors have consulted with us at the beginning of the process, bouncing ideas off of the editorial staff and helping the writer to better hone and focus their potential article topic. Other times, we solicit articles from people who have unique expertise about a certain topic that we feel would be valuable for the IMQ readership. These articles are subject to the same standards and editorial changes that unsolicited articles are.

Regardless of how an article is submitted, IMQ 's Managing Editor takes the first look at the article. Any articles that are clearly not a fit for IMQ (because of inappropriate length, subject matter or style) are turned away at this point. Articles that make it past this first cut move to the next stage of the editing process.
